Texas’ Nelson Cruz has already hit 11 dingers and Milwaukee’s Prince Fielder clobbered the same amount, so the yet-to-bat Adrian Gonzalez will certainly have his work cut out for him. But with such a free and easy swing and such tremendous power, I don’t see how he can’t beat the best of ‘em.

Batting outside of the cavernous Petco Park and seeing nothing but meatballs, he should be a pleasant surprise. It would also be nice for Gonzalez on a personal level, as a couple 500 foot home runs could certainly vault him from obscurity to stardom (outside of California).
